My Secret Weapon

I will confess, I’m truly blessed. 😇

Have you ever felt blessed beyond you deserve? And it’s not just because there’s a roof up above me, nor because I have a good place to sleep. Yes, there’s food on my table and shoes on my feet.  But even if I didn’t have those I’d still feel blessed. Why? …Because of my secret weapons that have been used against the enemy;

Yes, nuggeteers! I’ve got me something money can’t buy; Prayer warriors.

I get excited just writing about it, and if I was in your presence, you’d probably see me bouncing like a ball.

You see, God has placed some prayer warriors in my corner. Had it not been for them, I don’t know who, what and how I would be. 

Do you have a prayer warrior?

These are people who have a selfless heart, who seek God’s will in my situations. They understand the need to pray for those who are unable to pray themselves, and they keep vigil during difficult times. 

As I sit here acknowledging their value, my mind takes me back to the many times God reveals His handy work through them.

Not too long ago, there I was sitting in my sofa, pondering a situation and out of nowhere the call came in, and the caller who was totally oblivious of my situation said, “My daughter, my knees burn from praying for you”. (She was one of many mothers I have in Zion). All I could do in that situation was cry, cause I was amazed by God.

I’ve been up at the wee hours of the night, on hills of despair, only to be interrupted by a ding on my phone. The text read, “Niecy, I’m praying for you”. And in that moment, my hill became a vacant anthill beneath me!

Today, as I make my way on a field trip which will prove difficult, I began to contemplate my decision to go, then suddenly my phone notifies me of an incoming message. As I listened, my face lit up after hearing the prayer warrior’s recorded prayer; she was praying for the very things I wrestled with in my mind.
Later, as I went through the day, I saw the hands of God working as she had requested of Him! I felt a strength I’ve never felt before. I saw an overheated day, became cooled with the right amount of rain, falling at the right time, I exhibited patience in situations that would have gotten me riled up, and I turned deaf and blind to things that would have lowered my Christian value…All because of that prayer.

I could go on and on, but there wouldn’t be enough space here to chronicle the effect of my prayer warriors’ prayers.

Nuggeteers, I can’t begin to tell how my prayer warriors have moved the heart of Christ and knocked down heaven’s door on my behalf.

I have prayer warriors who go into days of fasting and prayer, burn the midnight oil, rise before the break of dawn, to petition the throne of Grace on my behalf. Why? Because they were commissioned by the spirit of God. 
These are people who listened to the voice of God and make themselves available to be used in prayer. 

Hey! Are you hearing me out there? 🗣️ I have people who Jesus has assigned to pray for me!

Blessed, is an understatement. Even when I don’t feel like praying or I’m praying the wrong prayer, God gives me back up!

Hey!!! I feel like I can’t stay seated at this moment, like I have a praise moment coming on and my feet and hands need to be involved.

 Sing with me, “🎶 I feel like running, skipping, praise the Lord, for what He has done for me, He has set my spirit free, I feel like…🎶” tambourine!

Nuggeteers, do you have a prayer warrior?

I know what you’re thinking, “it’s not everyone who says they are praying, prays, and it’s not everyone who said they will pray, can pray, and you can’t have every and anyone praying for you, and no one prays better for you, than you.”

And you’d be right in your thinking.  But when you have a God sent prayer warrior in your corner, you walk with a little more pep in your step, a little more tilt in your chest, a little more swag in your jog, a little more rise in your stride! 

Do you have a prayer warrior? 

Do you have someone who understands your spiritual ware-fare and avail themselves to be your intercessor; someone who pleads the blood of Jesus over your life even when you’re asleep and unaware of their wrestling with God for you; someone you can call on to pray for you, and you know the situation is already handled? 

Yes, now you’re getting it; I’m blessed!  I’ve got people in my corner who are willing  to drop everything to pray for someone else who needs it. And I’m not talking about people who only pray “fix it” prayers, but those who understand the character and will of God.

These are individuals who know that  “success” in intercession is not so much about getting God to do what we want. It’s about putting ourselves in a position to hear His voice, responding in prayers focused on Him, and believing in his goodness-regardless of how He chooses to answer. In short, it’s about a relationship with God, characterized by faithful obedience.

I feel a level of confidence, relief, and joy, when my prayer warriors are activated on my behalf. 

I feel like I have gotten you zealous over a good thing. Some of you can relate, while others may feel like you’re missing out.
I don’t know who you have in your corner-praying for you.  If you thought those earthly prayer warriors whom I boosted of were all I have, you’re wrong. They work for the Boss. I’ve got the ultimate prayer warrior- crème de la crème, and I’d like to introduce, or reintroduce Him to you.   His name is Jesus, the Heavenly Intercessor.

Wherefore He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Hebrew 7:25

Do you realize what that means? For all those who have placed their faith in Him, He lives to intercede for them. What does that mean? We can come to God anytime because our intercessor is alive at the right hand of the Father, always interceding for us. 

Yes, always! Noticed that part of the text? It says “ever liveth to make intercession for them.

But not just that, this picture of Jesus’s work of intercession at the Father’s right hand means that He is always working for our good; that He is always in the midst of our struggles. He is interceding for our perseverance in the midst of our temptations. He is interceding for our power, and our ability to overcome temptation.
He presents us to the Father clothed in the white raiment of His own character. He pleads before God on our behalf, saying: “I have taken the sinner’s place. Look not upon this wayward child, but look on Me.”

What a prayer warrior!

If not, then try Jesus!  Not only will He intercede with God for you, but He will commission earthly prayer intercessors, praying through Him, to Him, for you. Prayer warriors who will be your spiritual supporters and spiritual accountability partners.
