If I were a cheerleader and a social media fanatic, you’d probably see me on Tic Toc shouting, “Give me a B”- (echo B). “Give me a U”-(echo U). “Give me a T” (echo T). “What does that spell?”- B.U.T.
Of all the conjunctions in the English language, to me, “but” is the most powerful.
“But” means” on the contrary, except, or unless.
This morning, I added that three letter conjunction to a three letter noun, and my body went into revival mode; my hands clapped, my feet moved, my eyes watered, my mouth shouted, and my heart rejoiced.
BUT GOD!
Only some of you would know what I’m talking about. For those who have yet to use and experience those two words working together, you have been missing out on life’s finest rewards.
“BUT GOD” is when the universe, the enemy, and circumstances try to block, stop, trap you, BUT GOD step in. “BUT GOD” is when you realize that God had and will always have your back.
Does anyone know what I am talking about?
I’m talking about the times when;
I wanted to give up- BUT GOD!
I wanted to stay down- BUT GOD!
I wanted to give in – BUT GOD!
I am talking about the time when he –she- they-it consumed me, tried me, tested me, angered me, despised me, fired me, played me, abused, confused, refused, and used me –BUT GOD!
He, she, they betrayed me, talked about me, rose up against me, derailed me, tricked me, influenced, included, and induced me – BUT GOD!
The devil tried to stop, trap, conquer, clobber, steal, appeal, break, take, destroy, and kill me- BUT GOD!
But of all the “BUT GODs“, this is the one I love the most;
I was lost, BUT God!
I’ve gotten lost many times in my walk on the straight and narrow path. I have detoured a few times, BUT GOD found and redirected me.
Tell the devil, “you may knock me DOWN, but you can’t knock me OUT, because there is too much power in- BUT GOD!”
Tell the devil, “I may have messed up – BUT GOD!”
Yes, you may have financial challenges, wayward children, broken marriages, and a host of disappointments, but today, I invite you to look yourself in the mirror and tell the devil, it’s not over til God says it’s done – BUT GOD!
While you are waiting on God in your season of disappointment, reflect on these BUT GOD bible texts;
Just two words. Understand their use in Scripture and you’ll never be the same.
Do share your BUT GOD experiences with me and other readers.

Because of my past, I do not deserve the privileges and opportunities which I now receive. And to be the person that I now am… But I can say like Paul…
“BUT GOD’s grace has made me what I am, and his grace to me was not wasted…
1 Corinthians 15:10 NCV
But God came through and answered in a way that I never expected.
